About Us
The Curragh Sub Aqua Club is a very active club, diving throughout the season and it is a hands on club...above and below the water.
Be it that we are away at the weekend diving or cleaning the clubhouse everyone mucks in and it leads to many a friendship being formed in the most unlikely spaces...
About us
Our club was formed in 1958 by members of the Irish Defence Forces and the club has grown from strenght to strenght over the last 50 years. Today we have close to 60 active members from 5 different countries. Operating from our clubghoseon the south side of Dublin bay and we are very fortunate to be able to just open the door and have sea right at our fingertips.... Our club is one of the most active in Ireland and has one of the hightest compliments of instructors for any C.F.T club. The club is a member of the Irish Underwater Council and the training is modelled on the French CMAS system.
Based in Sandycove we dive 3 times a week weather permitting during the season as well as organising trips around Ireland for the long weekends. There are also foreign trips arranged during the year.
We have our own boats which are 2 rigid inflatibles and they come away on the weekends with us. The club also has compressors for filling our own bottles in house and for the weekends away we can bring our own portable compressors which help reduce the costs of fills.
Each year a committee is elected and voted in at the annual general meeting in October and throughout the year it is responsible for the running of the club.
You can follow us on Facecbook, Twitter (CurraghSAC) and also use your Garmin sat nav to find us with the LOC8 code.
Call into us most Saturday mornings from 9.30am onwards from April to October and we'll be glad to answer any queries you have.
