The Club Joining News & Events

Welcome to the website of the Curragh Sub-Aqua Club. Founded in 1958, our diving club was the 3rd to be established on this Island and is one of the most active in the country.

The club is affiliated to the Irish Underwater Council (Comhairle Fó-Thoinn or CFT) and we follow the C.M.A.S. training program to give people all the skills needed for scuba diving.

Based in Sandycove, Co Dublin, we dive three times a week in Dublin bay between March and October. We also organise diving weekends around Ireland each bank holiday and one or more week long trips during the summer. There is also an annual dive holiday abroad.

We are always open to new members, both trainees and qualified divers - click here for details about joining ...

Schull Easter 2010

Our winter pool sessions are run at Sportsco in Ringsend from January to March (Sundays 7.00pm) and diving related lectures in our clubhouse act as an opportunity to train new recruits and also to keep current members up to scratch.

Our clubhouse is situated on the waters edge at Sandycove and during the season we dive from here and from Dun Laoghaire harbour.

Dublin bay offers many sites for diving and our most visited are the Muglins Rock, Dalkey Island and the wreck of the Guide Me II.

The Curragh currently has over 70 members including a high proportion of qualified instructors and very experienced divers - everyone is encouraged to advance through the ranks!
