Boats

Both ribs are still out of the water. The steering on the Northcraft broke towards the end of last season and this is currently being attended to by Einar. The Lencraft still needs some minor work to improve its suitability as a dive boat and hopefully this will be completed shortly. The broken floor board in the newer Zodiac has also been replaced. The small engines were checked recently and appear to have come through the winter ok. We will know more on St Patricks Day when we will put a couple of boats in the water to assist in covering the Dalkey Island swim.

We have a number of people doing the Cox`n course who will use the opportunity to work up some hours. Two life jackets have been purchased by the club and in line with CFT and Dept of the Marine recommendations all cox`ns should wear either life jacket or other buoyancy device when in charge of a boat. This applies particularly to cox`ns not wearing a wet/dry suit.

We can all help in making Einar`s job easier by being careful when handling club equipment. It is very important that if a problem does arise that Einar or any committee member is informed asap.
