What's going on? Social News

A lot of work went in to arranging the Christmas party and for the seventy or so people who turned up it was a great night that will long be remembered in the annals of the Curragh. Rhona and her team made a tremendous effort in transforming the clubhouse and many thanks once again to all who assisted. The club also made a profit on the night so if all else fails there may be a future for the club in the catering business.

In our continuing bid towards diversification we introduced live music to the clubhouse for the first time when The Don White band from Ennis played recently. We had a good crowd for what turned out to be a great night`s entertainment. We could have done with a better turn out from Curragh club members. Attendance was supplemented by generous support from friends and members from at least three other clubs. We may bring this band back later in the year as they put on a great show and I`m sure that those who missed out this time will want another chance to see them.

Its important for the club to maintain social contact so there will other events in the pipeline as the season progresses including the usual summer (hoping we get one) barbecues. Here's some of the gang at the last Barbeque of 2002.
