The Season Ahead

Safety

In the beginning of my tenure I praised the Curragh SAC for their excellent safety record and I’m proud to say that this record has been maintained to date. You may have noticed that the committee have added new club rules, these are in line with the Curragh’s proactive approach to safety. You might also be aware, there is legislation that is being drafted at the moment that will have a direct impact on diving. This legislation and its requirements should be embraced for the spirit of its origins, water safety for all! The ease with which these rules (which I based on my experience and predicted legal requirements) have been adopted underlines the mature professional approach the Curragh’s members have to their sport and safety.

Comfort Zone

We aim as divers to dive within our and our buddies comfort zone….but this comfort zone can be stretched to increase our enjoyment and divers natural tendency toward adventure. We stretch our comfort zone through further training in order to explore the sports and our own limits….. We are very privileged to have an abundance of experience and talent in the club and we are utilizing these assets to provide various courses for our members I would urge members to avail of these courses that are offered through out the year….Any chance to adapt/ augment/improve our diving techniques should be jumped at!
