The Alternative Boffin Challenge

Gillian O'Connor is currently acting as the Curragh ambassador to the southern hemisphere. But before getting down to business in Sydney she went on reconnaisance to South America with brother Shane. Not to be outdone by this years athletic boffin challengers they performed their own triathalon along the trek to Macchu Piccu. They can be seen opposite proudly sporting their boffin challenge t-shirts with the ancient city's ruins behind them.

The last Barbeque of Summer...

Rhona Mannion, our social secretary, organised another great barbeque on the Saturday 30th August. the weather was glorious along with the amazing selection of salads and desserts brought along by members.

There was a great turn-out of both Junior and senior members and friends and family. The juniors went for spin in the Lencraft and then did their last snorkel of the year before heading back to school. They went out in style with a 'diving for pegs' competition and end of season prizegiving.

The seniors on the other hand busied themselves with the arduous task of proping up the bar and cooking chicken and sausages while consuming plates of delicous food and watching the Blue Planet DVD projected in the clubrooms for their enjoyment. Its a tough life being a member of the Curragh(not!)...

Congratulations to Sean and Helena

2 of our newer members Sean McGrath and Helena Fallon tied the knot on the 6th September last. The Curragh can take no credit for bring this couple together but we wish them a long and happy life together. Sean and Helena are currently to be found Honeymooning in style on a cruise.

Aodan and Leona's 'Curragh' Bridesmaids

Aodan and Leona are a shining example of a fine Curragh romance and on the August Bank holiday they finally tied the knot. And in true Curragh tradition some club representatives were there to witness the occasion. To ensure the the good wishes of the Club was clear to the bride and groom three of our female members took it upon themselves to expand the bridal party as the 'curragh bridesmaids'. They brought their own dresses and deftly nipped out during communion to quickly transform themselves in order to greet the happy couple as they emerged from the church. The also managed to acquire some blue hydrangeas to match their dresses just in time for the official 'Curragh'wedding photos. Congatulations Guys we wish you all the best and well done for being such great sports!!
