Autumn 2007

Hi,

The weather during our 'Summer' wasn't always ideal for diving, but we made the best of it. Some
people even got away to more suitable conditions!

A group of us were lucky enough to get in a week's 'unofficial' diving in Gozo. It really is a super place, lovely people, fantastic scenery and with beautiful diving only a few metres away in any direction!! The diving is excellent – beautiful colours, drop offs, pinnacles, holes, caves, fish life
…The one thing that sticks in my mind about the diving is the incredibly rich blue colour in the water as you emerge from holes and caves. It's magical!

Thanks a million to Peadar for all the organising and leading, and to himself and Deirdre for making
us feel so welcome – I can safely say that we'll all be back.

By the way we stayed in a beautiful villa with lovely views across the island. It came with a pool (as if we hadn't enough of the water!), a pool cleaner, and an apprentice pool cleaner who never really showed much promise! The villa also had it's own Olympic synchronized swimming coach - watch out for 2 Irish competitors in Beijing!

It also had a honeymoon suite. There was never any doubt about who would have the honeymoon
suite – we had a pair of young lovers in the group, and they were the obvious choice! We can't say
too much about the amount of time spent in the suite (one of them only emerged occasionally for
pool cleaning duties!), or the fact that everyone except our two lovers arrived home with lovely tans, nor can we mention a loving embrace at 20 metres, or a passionate jive by candlelight, because Gozo is, well, way beyond Lambay!!
