Chairman's
Ramblings
First I would like to wish you all a very Happy
Christmas and the hope that the diving in 2004 matches up
to 2003.
A brief look back - 2003 was in many
ways one of the best years for the Club in a long time. The
weather was glorious - the diving great - the boats worked
- and the Club collected more certs than any other Club in
the Country. Michael O'Loughlin and his Committee did a great
job - look at the weather. The diving was exceptional (thanks
Paul) all the new qualifications bode well for the future,
well done to everyone and thanks to Niall and Siobhan for
the work they put in to preparing all the candidates for test.
What can we say about this year. The
Christmas Party!! Well done to Rhona and her crew, a great
night and a profit too. Thanks to everyone who brought Kris
Kindles and spot prizes. Special thanks to Brian Holland for
his generous support even though he was unable to be present.
Paul Cullen is offering a small reward for information leading
to the identity of Roisin's Kris Kindle giver.
Niall is working away with our trainees
- the course proper will start in January - he is also running
a Nitrox course with Kathy Brickell on 23/24/25 January 2004.
The Clubrooms Officer Brian Kinsella
has done a great job evicting our furry friends and cleaning
up the Clubrooms - remember it is your Clubrooms - so help
to keep it clean.
Shane has put up an interesting calendar
of diving for 2004 - some new sites and some old favourites
that we haven't seen for a few years and don't forget Stephen's
Day and New Year's Day snorkels at 11.00 a.m. followed by
Hot Toddys.
Happy Christmas
John
